Every season at Changes we get together at our monthly shop meeting and talk beauty trends. We look at all the information we received from the runway and then we create Inspiration boards with the seasons hottest looks. As a team we talk about how we can incorporate these trends in not only our lives but our clients lives. After the meeting we always walk away feeling inspired, ready to be creative and make our clients feel and look their very best.
I sat down with Nicole, one of our executive level stylists, to talk to her about where she finds inspiration for hair color. Nicole expressed that she is constantly inspired by everyday people she sees walking down the street. She loves to see hair in natural light and it’s organic movement . While most of us can admit we like to people watch, Nicole is putting her people watching skills to work helping her find new inspirations that she brings back to the chair.
Our hair team recently had a class with Leslie Cooke from Wella Professional to learn their new Freelights technique which helps creates natural-looking highlights, ombre and balayage with a sun-kissed look by hand-painting color instead of using foils.
Nicole, like the rest of our team that attended the class, was inspired to try the new techniques right away. The picture to the right shows how she was able to create a modern, highlighted look to soften and brighten her clients natural color. Putting her own spin on the Wella hand-painting technique, Nicole was able to create the perfect spring time look for her client!
Inspiration is defined as “something that makes someone want to do something” or “that gives someone an idea about what to do or create”. The team at Changes is inspired daily to bring you the newest trends and help incorporate them in your everyday look.
