The 80/20 Rule for a Sexy, Summer Body
The hot topic this summer is healthy, deprivation free weight loss! What was once an oxymoron is now proving to be easy and there has never been a better time than summer! The key to success is to change the traditional approach of calorie counting or carb watching! The big change is that for this new healthy approach, calories don’t count nor do carbs!
The change is simple to understand and even simpler to implement. We have all heard of the 80/20 rule where 80% of the results created by 20% of the actions. When it comes to successful weight loss it is just the reverse. Fast, rapid weight loss can occur by enjoying a diet comprised of a minimum of 80% of healthy, raw, summer fruits and vegetable.
There are a couple of unexpected side effects says Camala Casco, Director of Changes Salon and Day Spa, Center for Well Being. “Not only is healthy, rapid weight loss possible, you won’t believe the added energy and resistance to the “summer cold” that comes from enjoying a diet comprised of 80% raw fruits and vegetables.”
Camala is passionate about this approach to health and weight loss and is a walking testament to the effectiveness. A little over a year ago Camala tipped the scales at nearly 200 pounds and wore size 18 pants. This summer Camala is enjoying wearing shorts again and size 8 shorts at that!
Camala’s 80/20 Spring Rolls
Cut fine strips of jicama, carrot, celery, apple, mango, or any other combination that inspires you! Enjoy what is fresh at our Farmers Market!
Cut thin flat strips of zucchini or cucumber to make the wrappers. (Camala recommends using a Cai bao, an inexpensive tool from Vietnam which can be special order by calling Camala at Changes)
Layer 2-3 of the zucchini or cucumber pieces. Add the julienned vegetables and top with whatever makes you feel indulged. I particularly enjoy fresh yellow pear tomatoes, cilantro, chopped green onions, mint and sprouts of your choice. For a more substantial roll, marinate julienned Portobello mushrooms in the OMG Dipping Sauce below. Then simply roll it up! Now dip and enjoy a slimmer, sexy, healthier and more energetic you!
